It is very easy to upgrade the memory in a SE/30. The motherboard comes out easily, just be careful of the speaker wire and connector pins. Remember that there are two memory banks and that all SIMMs in each bank need to be matched. Also if you want 32bit memory addressing, you will need a clean romm or mode32. I have one of mine hooked up to a 17inch color monitor and it looks great.

Most models have a self-discharging CRT. Discharging the tube only applies to the earlier macs, Plus, 512k and 128k.
