won't like the answer to this question, so please reply in private. If
somebody with a Color Classic want to make the ROM image but doesn't have
the tool, I can provide him with the program I used to dump my Classic's
ROM. Is there another good free emulator for Windoze I don't currently
know? It should be able to emulate at least a 68030, but I bet all
emulators can nowadays run 68040 code without trouble...>>>

BasiliskII is supposed to be good stuff, but I haven't run it yet. It runs
under X11, and presumably you have some way of running Linux to make that
go on your (ugh) PC. To be in posession of a ROM image, and keep Apple
happy at the same time, you should be the owner of the computer whose image
you use. I'd think any Quadra or Performa would work as well, and they are
available for a song or even free if you're lucky. I'll be trying the SE/30
ROM image and a Quadra 650 image this week on BasiliskII. Ask me later how
it went.

For the record, then, the Classic ROM doesn't work? Or should we say that
it has not yet been made to work?
