When I was on the list before I was having a problem with my classic II. It would disply vertical black and white bars across the whole screen, and then a checkerboard pattern. sometimes it would start to work, then it would play a happy sound and then a sad sound and would then just sit there and do nothing.

Another user mailed me about this just last week suggesting that I wash the logic board in warm soapy water and then allow to dry at least over-night. I was skeptical, but tried anyway. It worked. when I put the board back in the classic II and turned it on it came right up, and has worked perfectly ever since. now I am upgrading the harddrive, and putting 7.5.3 on it... I also discovered that the processor had some bent pins. i fixed that as well. now that I see it clean I realize how dirty it was before....
