I think most compact Macs (including the CC/CCII) don't like two or
three-chip SIMMs, so you would want to get a couple of eight or nine-chip
SIMMs. Don't know why, but when I first upgraded my Classic's memory with
two trhee-chip 1 Mb memory modules, I started to get a lot of random
crashes. When I replaced them with two nine-chip 1 Mb modules, the little
Classic started running without a problem :-) .

Does anybody know the reason because of which the compacts don't like those
SIMMs?
