Hi:

I recently purchased a Macintosh SE. I turned on the Mac and I get a floppy
disk and a question mark inside it. I am assuming, since I am a neophyte to
this, that the Apple Macintosh SE computer is asking for a boot disk. Well, I
received no boot disk with the Mac.

I took the advice of a friend to downloaded a copy of Mac 6.0.8 from the
website. I attempted to load disk 1 of 2, but the Mac rejected both disks. A
floppy disk with an X appeared and the disk automatically ejected. The disks
were 1.4 megabytes a piece, if that's any assistance to you.

So, I'm appealing to you all, what is my next move? I received an Apple Tour
disk, but it won't boot the computer up so that I can use it. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated.

Early SEs used 800Kb discs, and yours may well be 14.Mb floppies.

What labels are on the front and back of the SE?

Stuart
