I got around this on an SE/30 with an Asante ethernet card by sticking a straight old fashioned 10/baseT hub between the computer and my router. I think one of the other list folks said that it could also be "fixed" by manually entering IP numbers in the network or TCP/IP control panels. Unfortunately, I don't recall the procedure.
