Indeed. But where did the multi-pin PCB connector (on the right) go?

I would guess that it connects to whatever clip goes over the Mac Plus's CPU. How many pins on a 68000? Assuming that connector is double-rowed, I count 64 pins.

I just had another thought, looking at the picture again. The upgrade was loose in the Plus, and the pins on the end sure look like it's made to stand upright in the case, whereas most Plus upgrades rested parallel to the Plus logic board.


Perhaps this is actually an upgrade for the SE and those pins plug into the SE expansion slot and the board stands vertically? That would explain --sort of-- why it was rattling around loose in the Plus instead of installed.

That would mean that the connector must be triple rowed with 96 pins total instead of 64, I think. The SE has 96 pins in its expansion slot, right?
