Hi All:
According to lowendmac.com, the quickest and easiest way to upgrade the
Color Classic would be to get the motherboard of an LC 550. Pardon this
stupid question but would the mobo of an LC 575 or 580 do? After all, from
the looks of it, they have the same form factor and they belong to the same
series.
Turns a normal colour classic into a ccII basicly with 265k more vram.
The 575, 580 replaces the 030 with a LC040 with better cache size, the 580 raises the ram ceiling from 36 to 52mb while raising the vram to 1mb and the vram speed.
More vram = more colours at higher screen sizes.
