Well crud...  Any ideas of where I can get a donor logic board? There's  
not really anywhere that sells this kind of stuff anywhere around here,  
so eBay's about the only thing that pops into my head.  There's one on  
eBay I'm watching, but if someone's got one lying around the house  
somewhere, maybe I can work out a trade or pay for it.

I fear not. Changing the controller chip would be very difficult if  
not impossible unless you have surface-mount soldering equipment, and  
the only likely source of a chip would be a donor l/b in the first  
place.
