Looks like a fun collection.

If the drive shows up on the desktop of the SE and when you "open" it you 
see nothing, than that is most likely what is there, nothing. Am not sure 
what you mean by "New Image Drive Icon" so don't know how to answer. If 
you mean that a CD stuck in the CD drive shows up on the desktop, then it 
seems that things are working properly.

If you want to put a system file on the 20SC, you could just stick the 
system install floppy into the SE and select the 20SC as the destination 
disk when the Install Dialog Box asks the question. Same process to get 
files to the 20SC. Just copy them from whatever source you want (CD-ROM 
if that is working), the SE hard drive, or floppies in the SE floppy 
drive.

Didn't know there was a "Classic Post List" but this one seem like a 
proper forum to ask about your string of Compact Macs.
