Classic II question:

I have a C2 (not! a CC2) that boots to a checkerboard pattern. The checks
are pretty large (1x1" onscreen maybe), and have a repeating pattern across
them that looks like short square sine waves (well, they really look like
"weeds" to me, but I'd likely fail a Rorschach test, so what do I know).

Anyway, I tried pulling the additional memory simms ...same boot pattern.

I also tried pulling and cleaning the ROMs ...again, the same boot pattern.

Any ideas?

Pull the motherboard out. Take the battery out. Then wash the motherboard and dry well.
