Yes. In fact the Plus gets a lot more zippy when it's maxed out to 4MB. Jeff>> Hey, the Plus was my first and *only* Mac for a year or two( c.1997). Was running system 7.5.x (what did I know at the time?! Hadn't a clue how to install another system. ;-) With 4mb RAM and a 2400 baud modem, I was able to get online with AOL 2.7 to do e-mail, usenet groups, and download lotsa cool software from AOL's filesearch(but web-browsing would have been difficult if not impossible). With AOL running, I was only able to open one other app(maybe) like NotePad so I could save text. Finally I got my Quadra 800, but I am grateful for the learning experience(specifically how to carefully manage memory fragmentation) I had with the Plus!
