Also, I read the lemswap list a lot, and the main problem there is a handful of essentially dealers post extraordinary long lists of stuff, and it is ALWAYS the same stuff, day after day. I think the length of the swap-posts needs to be discussed, as well as expirations on the same objects being offered repeatedly.

Here is a scary thought which perhaps no one will go
for but it occurs to me to toss out: what if it really
a *trade* list, in which money exchanges were
discouraged, e.g, no paypal, no pricing listed, barter
offline? At least that would keep away the profiteers
who want to spam us with 10 page lists of paypal-only
items.

The problem with pure swap is that it doubles the shipping costs, and beginners may have nothing to swap. I'm sure we can make the thing unattractive to traders! ;-)
