This is a problem that many of us have to fight with. Many System 6
applications, games and utilities are compressed with StuffIt 5. But latest
version of StuffIt that will run on a plain 68k Mac with System 6 is StuffIt
4 - and so we are unable to uncompress and run them. I have solved the
problem thanks to a Classic II motherboard and a external drive with System
7.6, both sent to me by Bill. But it hasn't the same magic as doing all the
process with a plain Classic and its built-in hard drive.

Is there any *simple* way to convert (or batch-convert) StuffIt 5 files into
version 4 ones? I mean - a method that requires less work than uncompressing
them with SIT 5, repacking them with SIT4 and then binhexing them (required
to transfer SIT 4 files to a non-forked medium like the Internet or a PC
disk).
