Electronics and water don't mix when said electronics are powered up (although a recent experiment with a mostly-dead Linksys switch seems to indicate otherwise, or at least I have very soft water). When it's off and unpowered, water doesn't do a whole heck of a lot to most electronics as long as it doesn't rust. I had a friend in the recycling business have a pallet of monitors sit out in a thunderstorm overnight, let them dry out thoroughly, and the only effect was somewhat cleaner cases.
