Subject: Re: Plus Video

An update on the video problem with y Plus. it was the connector that
connects the logic board with the analog board. It wasn't the solder
joints, it was the connector on the wiring harness. I tightened up the
pins, cleaned everything and treated it with Stabilant-22. Seems to be
ok now.

Where does one get the stabilant? I looked for that stuff for a while after reading about something of the kind in one of Pina's books, but could never find any.

Next challange, the old 40mb hard drive in the HD20 box has given up the
ghost. New drive and clean setup time!

Wouldn't it be a 20 MB drive in the HD20? And do you know where to find compatible replacements? Or are you discussing a SCSI based drive? The HD20 refers to (I think) the floppy interface based hard drive from Apple which uses some bizarro drive mechanism with the wrong number of pins to be an exact match for any of the commonly used interfaces down through the years. I spent some hours researching it on the web a few months back. I should have written down what I learned though...knowledge: hard won, easily lost.
