A while back I mentioned I was having a problem getting an Asante MC+30IET64 to work on my spiffy "new" SE/30 (upgraded to 128 MB RAM). I picked up one of the Asante cards on eBay. It was shrink wrapped, seemed new. So I couldn't get it to work and Asante replaced it. I had the same problem with that card so I put it aside for a while.
Then I went to get an external ethernet adapter from http://www.galaxyhp.com but ended up ordering a replacement motherboard instead. All excited about the new motherboard! Got it, installed it...same problem.
Then I found another Asante card on Small Dog's Web site for $1 + shipping. Got it the next day; brand new. Plugged it in, crossover cable to my 7300/200, go to the Chooser and...
...BLAMMO!!! I see it!! I SEE IT!!!!! HURRAY!!!
So AppleTalk is workin' fine. But, I'm unable to ping the SE/30 even when I assign it an address manually; I don't think it's finding the router.
I'm gonna work on it some more (now that I know the hardware's working) but thought I'd ask if anyone had any idea why the IP part is acting the way it is.
Take care!
Jeff
