I admired the se/30 cd project at Applefritter without being tempted to try it, until I found an internal SCSI CD-R ( Mitsubishi CD-R50S ) at Goodwill. The nuts and bolts aspects should be about the same as the Applefritter project. Now I wonder -
Is there some fundamental reason this drive wouldn't work in this application? Is the se/30 unsuitable for CD burning, even at 1x? Or any other obscure technical obstacle I'm unaware of ( and boy am I unaware of a lot of stuff )?
If it's workable, what driver(s) would be necessary to run this drive? I expect it wouldn't be bootable, but that's a minor point. Would the Apple driver be sufficient, or is something else necessary, and if so where could I find it? Questions, questions - any answers would be appreciated.

Chet
