 I
don't have a torx screwdriver long enough to reach the screws under the
handle, talk about a proprietary tool!

There's a fifth screw under the battery cover. You probably found it already, but I know at least two people who spent an hour or more puzzling over how to open an original Mac because they didn't know about the fifth screw.

Interestingly, the screen is flickering every few seconds, looks to me
like maybe a power supply issue,

There are two circuit boards internally. One lies horizontally and that's the logic board. The other is mounted vertically on the left side of the cabinet; that's the analog board. The analog board comprises both the power supply and the video circuitry.

There is a single cable with several wires (more of a wire harness) that connects the analog board to the logic board. The first thing I would check is pin 1 of the connector for that cable at the analog board end. Pin one's solder joint on the analog board often degrades with time. Eventually (when that's the problem) it will yield no video but banging on the side of the machine will bring it back for a little while.

There are several other things that could be the issue (as another poster mentioned) but the above is a very common problem and it is easy to fix, since all you need to do is remove the old solder and resolder the joint.

Anyone know where I can get a cool game to play? Like solitaire, or
gomoku or tiles?

I like Megaroids. It won't run on anything later than a 512Ke. It won't even run on a 512K whose memory has been upgraded to 1 or 2 MB. Megaroids is just like the asteroids arcade game, except it runs on the Mac. I'm not sure where to find it, but Google might turn it up.
