I've rarely got an Apple Portrait display to work with any compact mac video add-on. Most of those cards seem to use some obsolete kind of monitor interface, while the portrait works with the built-in video of many Macs like the si, LC, and early PowerMacs. The radius pivot card might work, as it provides the standard Mac 15 pin connector.
