I've just purchased a "new" Mac Plus from eBay and expect it to arrive this coming week. It's a Plus along with keyboard, mouse and external HD and a really nifty nylon custom case to put it all into - backpack or hand carry style. I'm excited to get this unit, as i'm taking a stroll down memory lane. I currently use an eMac at office and home, fully decked out with all that Superdrive, loads of memory, etc, but wanted to relive the past.
I remember the very first day the Mac came out (I was an avid Apple ][+ user at that time) and I was at Woodward & Lothrop in Wheaton, MD to look at it. Nobody else (including the salespeople... haha!) had a clue what it was or how it worked, but I went up and was fully utilizing it in about 90 seconds. So funny how people nowadays, STILL, don't "get it."
Anyways, now you've got that silly intro, and here's my question.
The Plus has the blinking ? mark over a disk, indicating that it needs an OS. I would like to get OS 6.0.8 already on the right size & style floppy for that machine. Is there anywhere I can actually procure the disks in that format? If not, what is a reliable link I can download from to my eMac and how in the world can I load the Plus with it?
Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, but i'm really excited to be getting this Plus and look forward to using it and have it up and running nearly all the time. Some people think i'm nuts, but I knew it wouldn't be interpreted that way on this list!
