Well well... a new list member! Eric Rasmussen...

Welcome on board Eric! I've only been a member for about a month. I've currently got a Mac Plus with a 20 meg external HD all in very good/clean working condition.

I guess this is a bit off list, but wanted to share... I just received a Mac Portable today and i'm so excited about it! It's very clean and looks really good, save for a crack on the back that i'll super glue. Has the original battery - clean but not functional. Neat bonus - comes with original Apple carrying case and original wire bound manual, as well as original mouse (looks new). This is pretty exciting. And, for $20 I couldn't beat it!

Until I get the battery either refurbished or replaced, I can't turn her on because Portable's only run off 1) battery alone or 2) off AC adapter WITH good battery on it. Should be interesting working on it. It comes apart easily and looks great inside.

Guys, i've got an old Beige G3 at my office. Since this machine has a CD drive, do you think I could load Jags disk onto it and than, in turn, make 800K disks on the drive in it? It's a 266mhz G3 that was upgraded w/USB and a bunch of RAM. I've been offered it for free - we're upgrading our studio with a new G5 to complement the dual G4 already there. The G3 wasn't used in the studio, but was stored there.

I'm so anxious to get some working software onto my Plus. Oh Byron, by the way, THANK YOU for sending those disks! Got them today and I think we'll have a Tetris maniac or two in this house. Ha ha.

Hope you all have a great weekend. It's so incredible how much help you have offered to me. I, in turn, hope that i'll learn more and be able to help others.

My ultimate goal still is to start a small Mac "museum" of sorts with all functional machines that are still being used for tasks. I'm going to set up some nice shelving eventually in my office and have my office a nifty museum with all kinds of working machines in it along with their histories, etc., and a web page.... .mac of course! <grin>

Steve
