Maybe you can have two installs of the system software (one full with 32-bit
addressing enabled and an almost bare system with 32-bit addressing
disabled) and use the first for all daily work and the second only for
running the IIe card. Then an utility like System Picker will let you choose
which system folder to use. I don't know if this would work, because I'm not
sure if the 32-bit addressing option is stored in the PRAM or elsewhere, but
it may be a solution.
