The danger arises, as in gun registration, - anyone from government to ill-meaning people who get a hold of the list can missuse it for witch hunts and the like, knowing who has what. There is almost always a traitor who manages to get into any list no matter how good the security. But the information could be of great value to computer enthusiasts in the future when the informatio is of no more value to anyone but history.
