Hi All,

I have two Classic SE Macs and a Performa 540, my questions are -
1) Can the two Classic's be networked for file sharing, if so how ?
2) Could you install a Linux Dist on the Performa Macintosh ?

Hi Ian, not much traffic tonight.

!) You know how to setup appletalk don't you? Built-in filesharing
using a cable between two printer or modem ports?
If not, include the MacOS version each mac is running. This makes the
explaination you'll recieve much clearer.

!!) A performa 540? Is that the correct model #?
Debian or netbsd are quick choices and reasonably up to date, basiclly
cli only for a on topic mac. There are others with varying forms of
usefulness. If its a pci mac your choices expand, a cache card and ram
are recommended - so in a nutshell yes but it aint fast or pretty.
If you run a linux box you can run xdm (its late) sessions in a window
on the mac, great fun but limited to the macs slow ethernet.

Wow, lots of words and not one answer, sorry bout that.
