Hi! Finally I have received all the pieces needed to make my "new" PowerMac 6100/60 work, so I'm ready to create a small network between it and my Classic I/II. When it has the Classic II personality, it boots from an external drive with System 7.6.1. The problem is that the System was installed by the guy that gave me the motherboard and the external disk (), and it doesn't have AppleTalk.
I have tried connecting the external drive to the PowerMac (it has System 8.1) and copying AppleTalk 1.1 control panel from 8.1's System Folder to 7.6.1's System Folder. When I booted the Classic II again, there was an AppleTalk icon in the Control Panel folder, but when I tried to open it to enable AppleTalk, it complained about not finding OpenTransport. I know I'm quite close to make the network work (I already have a serial cable connected between the printer ports of both computers and file sharing enabled on the PowerMac), but I need to know where to download OpenTransport or an older version of AppleTalk that doesn't need it. May you help me? :-) Greetings, Antonio Rodrguez (Grijan) <ftp://grijan.cjb.net:21000/> -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
