Hi!

Finally I have received all the pieces needed to make my "new" PowerMac 6100/60 work, so I'm ready to create a small network
between it and my Classic I/II. When it has the Classic II
personality, it boots from an external drive with System 7.6.1. The
problem is that the System was installed by the guy that gave me
the motherboard and the external disk (), and it doesn't have
AppleTalk.

I have tried connecting the external drive to the PowerMac (it has System 8.1) and copying AppleTalk 1.1 control panel from 8.1's
System Folder to 7.6.1's System Folder. When I booted the Classic
II again, there was an AppleTalk icon in the Control Panel folder,
but when I tried to open it to enable AppleTalk, it complained
about not finding OpenTransport. I know I'm quite close to make the
network work (I already have a serial cable connected between the
printer ports of both computers and file sharing enabled on the
PowerMac), but I need to know where to download OpenTransport or an
older version of AppleTalk that doesn't need it. May you help me?
:-)

Description: AppleShare Client 3.7.4 is included with Mac OS 8.1. (Previous versions of the AppleShare Client software were known as the AppleShare Workstation Software.) Computers that are running system software earlier than system software 7.5.1 should run AppleShare Workstation 3.5. Computers that are running system software 7.5.1 or later (up to but not including 7.5.3) should run AppleShare Workstation 3.6.5. Please refer to the Read Me file included with with this software for complete details. - Appleshare Client readme.

Try the appleshare WS 3.6.5 file here for use without OT bloat
installed, client updates are also there if you have installed OT.

http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/Networking-Communications/Open_Transport/
is where you'd find OT. First .1 then update with .2 blah blah.

Hope that helps
