If you're unwilling to open it up, give it a couple good whacks on its left side. Mine did the same thing for a while (because of loose solder joints, I'm guessing), and whacking it now and then seemed to fix the problem. This'll most definitely be a temporary fix, though...not to mention the chance that you could break one of the joints completely. I dread the day when I'm going to have to open my Plus. :-(
