most isp's won't let you stay on for long periods of time , especially without activity. i have several machines set to log in as needed to send seti reports as needed and then have ppp/remote access set to disconnect after 5 minutes of no activity. on my primary box i have netscape 4.79 mail set to log in every 110 minutes to check for new mail and then i have Remote access set to log out after 10 minutes of activity. i also share line with 2 messy boxes, answering machine and telephone..
