Hi! It's me again. My never-ending supply of free computers has turned up another gem...a Color Classic. I'm going to research the heck out of it tonight, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas about what I can do with it. It came with original System Software disks, some other original Mac software, a 28.8 modem, and the Mac, of course. I have an external SCSI 60MB drive on my old B/W Classic, which I should be able to swap over. Are there any internal parts in the B/W Classic I can swap to the new(er) one?
No, sadly - quite different architectures.
Ethernet cards - LC type - work nicely in a CC.
IMHO, keep it totally standard, or else put a 575 logic board in there, and get some decent horsepower - the standard CC is very slow indeed.
What about upgrading the RAM?

You can add two 4Mb 30-pin SIMMS.
Or, with the 575 board, go to 68 or even 132Mb total.
And, was the Color Classic II labelled differently (I live in Canada, so I'm hoping...)?
"In your dreams, sonny" as a saying in the UK goes. They were labelled differently. Be happy with a free CC - a free CCII would be soooooo unfair!
best wishes,
Stuart
