I would use an sponge (buy one just for this work and your mom will be happier ;-) ) and a bit of soap, and rub it gently under cold or warm water until the goo goes out. Then let it dry before powering it on. > And how do I check the power supply > voltage? (sorry, I'm a 13 year old and this is my first experience > with an SE) Well, this is somewhat more technical... You first need a voltmeter or a multimeter. You also need to know where to measure it (the motherboard's end of the cable that goes to the analoghe board is a good place) and where to adjust it if it's wrong (surely a potenciometer inside the power supply, the large tin box by the analogue board). But I wouldn't recomend you to do that if you don't know exactly what you are doing (or even if you do!), because it involves working with the computer open and powered on, and a Compact Mac has high voltages (up to 9,000 Volts!) in the analogue board and the picture tube. This, in some circustances, may be able to *kill* you or produce serious injuries, and here I am not kidding either (and please, let's don't start another war about the "benefits" of discharging the tube - I'm talking about the computer being *powered on*).
