Now my Classic Apple collection is starting to build I was wondering about going about networking more than 2 machines together, now I could go and buy some localtalk boxes, but I was wondering before I do that if there is any information about what goes inside one of these, is there much of a circuit in there? Does anyone have a schematic or maybe some digital photos of one with the case off, top and bottom of the board would be useful.
Regards Sean.
The circuit is centered around a 1:1 pulse transformer. Aside from that there are a couple of resistors. The resistors are standard parts but the pulse transformer would be harder to find. Its easier to find used LocalTalk / PhoneNet adapters than it would be to find the pulse transformer. And you end up with a nicer looking, more rugged, and cheaper unit.
