Greetings all,
I have an SE/30 running System 7.5.5, but it's a little sluggish, so I'd like to go back to 7.1. The 7.1 installer says that I need to delete the System folder on the hard drive before I can install 7.1, so my plan was to get a copy of the 7.5 boot disk from Jag's house, boot that, delete the System folder from the hdd, and then begin installing 7.1. Does anyone know if this will work or not, or is there another way to do it?
Run the OS 7.1 installer and press Command-K. I'm not sure just when to do this so keep trying it. It should do a clean install which will rename the old System Folder.
