What did you use to format and partition the disk? Did the Plus ever "see" the disk so that you could format it there?

Most modern Macs will offer to create HFS+ partitions which allow for an adjustable allocation block size. I doubt that any Mac+ can handle that. It takes at least system 8.

Be sure you format with simple HFS for use on your Plus.

I guess there's nothing left to do than doing it in the Plus, you are right. I guess I can plug that baby to the G3 and backup the stuff so I can work with it in the Plus. Will be doing that tonight. Now that I remember I formatted it with FWB HDT but I must admit don't remember if I used HFS or HFS+.

BTW I do remember that HFS+ can only be read with OS 8.1 and newer (not 8) honestly why would Apple do THAT? Every time the hard drive crashed and I needed to boot from my OS 8 disk I come to realize there was no way to work with my disk, that was pretty stupid why didn't they make it work in 8? Oh well. That was one of the biggest flaws of OS 8, I had upgraded it through the web because 8.1 promised to be less buggy. It wasn't long before I bought a 4400/200 which brought 8.5 and I think its way more stable and reliable, never tried any of the X.6 Systems, ya know 7.6 and 8.6 but I heard many people say that from each particular family of that number they were the bests.
