Most Macs after the Mac Plus use a 1:1 interleave. When you've been formatting the drive, I'm willing to bet it's being formatted with a 1:1 interleave. While I'm not sure having a drive formatted with a 1:1 interleave would cause the Plus not to see the drive at *ALL*, you'll want to try formatting it at a 3:1 interleave before giving up hope. I don't think the standard Apple SC HD formatter gives you an option for setting interleave when formatting. I want to say the program I use for formatting drives on my Macs is called "MicroNet SCSI Utilities" or something like that. Maybe someone else can confirm that for me. -Nat -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
