WHy is this even an issue?

I could see if we were talking about a device that can work "stand-alone" 
style, like a copier of something. But since printers are dependant on the 
computers they are hooked-up to, why wouldn't they be allowed?

Now, if someone is having problems with their Stylewriter 1200 hooked up to a 
Powerbook 540c, or a Beige G3, then they should be KINDLY redirected to the 
appropiate list, OR their question dutifully answered off-list.
