wife would kill me for this. But I finally laid hands on one of the
often-talked-about-and-never-seen "1/20" marked education-market relaunch
SEs ("Studenten-SE").

It always excites me to unwrap and start such an old machine that had its
last change maybe in 1994 or 1996. It is a time capsule, a snapshot of its
era and of the people using it at the time. Of course, I delete all the
personal files, but getting in contact with Exel 2.2 and MacWrite II again
brings back some memories.
If someone wants a picture of this thing with the unusual front printing,
feel free to mail me, I have my Nikon 995 ready.

That's GREAT! Yes, I've had similar experiences with four SEs from the local school district.


They all have Miniscribes and all work flawlessly, with that neatly comforting churning
swoosh that the lever-arm mechanism provides.
