Makes sense. I've had no issues with my DLink or Netgear equipment in my crossplatform, mixed protocol network, but I don't use Linksys (too many problems when we used them at $work). My LaserWriter Select 360 is hooked to my network through an AsanteTalk bridge and a PhoneNet loop while my LaserWriter 8500 supports TCP/IP and AppleTalk (EtherTalk) through the AAUI/TP port.

The wired Linksys routers can pass AppleTalk, I have one that does. It may be just the wireless side that doesn't.
That printer will support IP printing, have you tried that through your wireless connection? I have a 16/600 that is hard-wired to my D-Link wireless router - I can print from my wired SE/30, PowerBook 540c, Pismo, and the wireless pieces hanging around here like my TiBook and a friend's Pismo.
The Laserwriter Utility is downloadable from Apple, you will need to have a direct or Appletalk connection to go in and edit the settings. I set a IP address of .13 for the printer, one that would never get passed out by my router.
