Thanks, JSH, that got it. I had assigned it before to 192.168.1.7 and all I had to do was add it to my static list in the router, I don't use DHCP because I am trying to set up a Linux webserver. I also put it in Port Range Forwarding for port 35.

To reply to the other comments, I have an icebook w/airport card that I can browse to in OSX using the afp:// prefix, so I think either the OS translates it into TCP/IP and back again or the Linksys supports Appletalk. It won't do it securely, though. I have an Asante FriendlyNet adapter, luckily it came with a Laserwriter IIg/NT Frankenstein project (i.e. disaster) I abandoned.

At any rate, I just printed from my G4, so thanks. I am also sorry for being off-topic but old printer stuff is all over these LEM lists.

The Linksys router and all other linksys wireless products do not
support AppleTalk.

I too am interested in any help on this subject, I have an Asante
Friendlynet adapter that I want to use with my Laserwriter 16/600.
It lights up and everything but I can't get into the printer with
it. I have it on a 10/100 hub that goes to a wire port on a Linksys
wireless router. Currently I use my Wallstreet's old printer port to
use the printer, but that's a pain because appletalk won't use that
port and ethernet at the same time.

The wired Linksys routers can pass AppleTalk, I have one that does. It may be just the wireless side that doesn't.
That printer will support IP printing, have you tried that through your wireless connection? I have a 16/600 that is hard-wired to my D-Link wireless router - I can print from my wired SE/30, PowerBook 540c, Pismo, and the wireless pieces hanging around here like my TiBook and a friend's Pismo.
The Laserwriter Utility is downloadable from Apple, you will need to have a direct or Appletalk connection to go in and edit the settings. I set a IP address of .13 for the printer, one that would never get passed out by my router.
