Any comments on those >ideas, or other suggestions? > It could likely be one or more dry joints on the analogue board, when you have the case off look around the joints on the flyback transformer (the black thing with the red lead coming off it to the crt cap)
A good test for dry joints is with the case off and the machine running (obviously be careful not to touch anything inside when powered up like this) use a heavy insulated screwdriver and holding it the wrong way round gently tap areas on the analogue board with the rubber handle, if you see any noticable action on the screen then you have a dry joint. > >Tim > Regards Sean. -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
