Thanks for your contribution, Doug, it's one of those I archive in a very secure place. Allow me just a little explanation to the above sentence because before I took up medicine, I was a pharmacist: Diluting jobs like producing the current strengths of isopropylic alcohol (45% and 70% in Germany) are always done with *distilled* water, so there's no need to worry about any dissolved electrolytes. I think it's the same procedure in your drugstores as it is in ours and our pharmacies.

The IPA I've seen here (US) are 70% and 90% or higher on the latter. It's still best to use the higher concentration. 70% IPA leaves more water behind and it will take longer to evaporate.
