Hello,

Firstly, Darren thanks for the SE/40 link , interesting reading indeed,
now firmly bookmarked !

Secondly....
I have an SE/30 which has contracted a case of SimasiMac, having worked
through the obviously clean up steps, I think I am now onto the replace
capacitors stage.

Question: Where can I find these capacitors ? I am in the UK, but I
guess these are cheaply posted if anyone has a good website source for
them......

Mike,

I know the capacitors are usually to blame for this sort of thing, but did you by chance check your SE/30's PRAM battery level? My SE/30 turned into a SimasiMac a while back, and on a whim tonight I checked its PRAM battery level and found it completely dead. I swapped that out with a known good one and my SE/30 has come back to life!

YAY!!! I really missed my SE/30. That is, until today when I plugged it back in and found I had ripped all its RAM out after it died before. With only 8MB, System 7.5.3 runs REALLY REALLY slow. That is ... S.L.O.W.

Anyway, fun stuff - I'm so glad I don't have to try out my soldering skills today.
