What I did on my SE/30 is make an alias of the Shut Down DA, and placed
it on my desktop. I know that doesn't allow you to use the Power button,
but it does make it easy to get to.

What you may be able to do is find a macro or function key program that
will allow the Shut Down DA to run when a key (or combination of keys) is
pressed. This still might not be the power key you're wanting to use, but
it might work for you. I can't think of any of these programs off the top
of my head, perhaps the list will chime in?

The ultimate in "lazy" would be to find a device called PowerKey. This
gizmo has a 4 outlet powerstrip, an ADB jack, and an ADB cable. You plug
the computer's keyboard into the powerkey, and the powerkeys ADB cable
into the computer. You plug the computer's power cord, and any external
device's power cords into the power key. When you press the power key on
the keyboard, it turns on the computer and anything else you have plugged
into it. When you shut down the computer it turns everything off. You
don't have to reach behind the computer ever again, barring any crashes
:) The best part is that these gizmos usually go for peanuts when you see
them on eBay or elsewhere. I think I paid as much for shipping as I did
for the item. I think this is the best accessory I have my SE/30, and it
is definately the most used :)

Hope this helps,

J White
