Hello, I've been working on my SE/30 to get it into production.
I finally settled on System 7.5.5, because I think it'll offer me the best functionality with the internet and such. (Don't worry, I love System 6.0.8, but I'll save that for one of my Classics and for the System 6 list:)) Any thoughts?
I have a few questions:
Do you have to have MODE32 installed before you can put 64 (4x16M) or 128MB RAM inside? I tried 64 (4x16M) and it did not boot up. I know this is not supported by Apple, but everyone says they can do it. I think MODE32 requires System 7.5 which relates to below. I bought the chips on eBay a long time ago, but they said they were pulled/or would work in a SE/30. Any ideas?
Networking: I can't get my SE/30 with System 7.1 to go back or forth with my G4/10.3, even with SharePoints. My reasoning behind this is so I can transfer 7.5.3/7.5.5 via the network instead of floppies! Does anyone know any spreadsheets or matrix which describe Appletalk and different vesrions of Mac OS?
Another question: The Classic II has some type of expansion slot. Everywhere I have researched, the Classic II does not have any expansion options. Does anyone know what that slot is for?
