Hello Sean, I got an old Classic up and running a couple of years back and had the same problems. The OS and the TCP/IP stuff all worked fine but I could not find a modern browser that would work. System 7.x+ was far too slow to be useful on that machine so I could not use that.
AFAIK there are no "modern" WWW browsers available on System 6. The CPU overhead on rendering current pages is pretty big too and the little Plus will probably chug a heck of a lot. As for other utilities, email I found that an old copy of Eudora (I think version 1.3.1) worked well and for a terminal app I found that MacTerminal behaved correctly. That's listed on System 6 Heaven. Sorry my news is not positive but I wanted you to avoid going through the same lengthy searches that I did. Good luck, Paul On Mon, 28 Mar 2005 19:30:36 +0100, Sean Billings <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > I have recently finished restoring my Mac Plus, and I have a shiny new > version of 6.08 installed onto an HD20SC hard disk, I installed MacTCP and > MacPPP to connect it to my network, everything has gone fine and I can > confirm that MacTCP and PPP work fine on system 6.
