Just the FPU would make little or no difference. What you are really
looking to do is overclock your SE/30.

The home of leet clocking skillz is the Land of the Rising Sun. I'm
sure if you look hard enough some mad Japanese bloke will have found a
way to overclock an SE/30 - or will find one for you if you ask him
nicely enough. I've seen overclocked Performa 5200s, FFS! They'll do
/anything./

Or perhaps you should challenge them to do it. 

Or simply put up a rather vague webpage with some faked screenshots
and benchmarks and wait for an enraged hardware hacker to try to outdo
you... And then post detailed instructions with photos of the
resistors to resolder. :�)
