Yes it was the RAM, everything looked fine so I reseated them and I can
now boot up with no problems......or so I thought ! The screen
corruption I was seeing is still there it happens about 1 boot out of
3. Looks like simasimac strikes again. I only have 2 SE/30's and they
have now both fallen victim ! The board does look like there may be a
leaking capacitor, the one nearest to the ROM (I forget the number) is
surrounded by a very light coating of what looks like a light coloured
resin or dry honey. Might be time to reach for the soldering
iron....although my lack of skill with that particular device concerns
me ! Thanks all for your advice. Mike.
