Yes but have you tried to see the drive with scsi probe or mt everything ? Better to see the drive before looking for format tools, John's comment about using a pc to zero the drive is also a very good idea if all else fails. Mac harddrive tools are somewhat lacking compared to just about every other platform, all very anti competitive in a real world.
