Has the color classic been modified to 640 x 480? I would try to
reduce the potenziometer on the flyback transformer not the one that
says focus, be very careful because there is high voltage inside.

Could well be a bad solder joint. If you're handy with a soldering
iron, a check and re-make of all cold joints might well solve it.
It would also be worth checking that all internal cables are well
located - you need a T-15 driver to get inside the case.
