My Classic II has recently behaved pretty erratically, where sounds are concerned. On start-up it will often produce a crackling noise, much like a radio with bad speaker connections. The noise will typically disappear after some 10 to 20 minutes. At other times, it is completely mute; i.e. no start-up chime, and no warning sounds.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Jan
